The 2019 mockbuster Monster Island of The Asylum, ironically released at the same time Godzilla: King of the Monsters was, is about an Island called Monster Island where a monster could be discovered.


As this is a movie about an asylum, it has a budget about equivalent to a huge kid's meal and utilizes it carefully, concentrating on a few human characters and keeping its big stars on a single set where all their sequences can be shot during lunch (check here) break. However, lest we forget this is the kaiju genre and, well, that is sort of how they go, so maybe The Asylum won't do such an awful job with it.
